After applying to Cal Poly, what's next for an applicant?

For domestic undergraduate:

  1. DO NOT send any supporting documents unless requested by the Admissions Office. This includes, but is not limited to: transcripts, essays, resumes, portfolios and letters of recommendation.
[NOTE: Unsolicited documents will not be processed.]

  2. If you have changes to the information submitted on your application, please note that Cal Poly only accepts certain changes.

  3. Read the applicant process to know what to expect.

  4. Understand the phrase "conditionally admitted" by reading the Terms and Conditions of Admission.

  5. Retain your confirmation number for your submitted application as this number is used for future identification purposes.

  6. Note the timelines for selection for the quarter to which you have applied.

For domestic graduate and international:

Check with those specific sections of the Admissions Website for information on those application processes.

Domestic Graduate Applicants

Once you have submitted your application, have ALL the colleges and universities that you have attended send us one official copy of your transcripts, certifications or degrees received.

If you are still enrolled in a degree program, have a transcript sent now from that institution but be prepared to have another transcript sent once your degree is posted.
