Intrasystem Visitor and Concurrent Visitor Program -
Cal Poly Students
The Office of Academic Records approves participation in either of these programs. Apply for financial aid as an IP student through this process:
- Be approved and identified as an Intrasystem Visitor or Concurrent Visitor participant.
- Apply for financial aid through the FAFSA (Cal Poly's federal school code: 001143). The priority funding date to submit the FAFSA is March 2nd for the following academic year.
- Complete an Authorization for Transmission of financial aid funds from the Student Accounts Office.
- Maintain reasonable academic progress.
Intrasystem Visitor Program - attend another CSU campus as a visitor, please note:
- You pay fees to the school you visit (i.e., your host school) and you will not be billed for Cal Poly fees for the quarter you are away. But you must apply for aid from Cal Poly, your home school. Cal Poly will send your aid to the host school.
Intrasystem Visitors are not eligible for Federal Work-Study during the quarter away.
- The Cal Poly off-campus budget is used unless we have information to determine otherwise. Financial aid may be adjusted if you attend a semester system campus.
- Financial aid is disbursed from Cal Poly at approximately the same time other Cal Poly students receive their aid. You must plan ahead and use other funds if you expect expenses earlier.
- If you are required to complete Loan Entrance Counseling for your Stafford/Unsubsidized Stafford Loans, do so before you leave. Complete the requirement on-line at EDTE$T Online Loan Counseling Tool.
- If your financial aid does not cover all of your fees or other university obligations, you are responsible for the balance.
Concurrent Visitor Program - attend both Cal Poly and another CSU campus concurrently, please note:
- You pay fees to Cal Poly based on the combined units at both schools. Cal Poly awards financial aid based on the combined units at both schools.
- Concurrent Visitors will have their checks sent to their homes, as usual, unless they have signed up with the Student Accounts Office for direct deposit.
- Financial aid is disbursed from Cal Poly at approximately the same time other Cal Poly students receive their aid. You must plan ahead and use other funds if you expect expenses earlier.
- If you are required to complete Loan Entrance Counseling for your Stafford/Unsubsidized Stafford Loans, do so before you leave.
- If your financial aid does not cover all of your fees or other university obligations, you are responsible for the balance.
