Student / Former Student Eligibility
Students
have the option of missing/not enrolling for 1 to 2 consecutive
quarters without needing to apply for readmission nor notify
the Office of Academic Records. Summer Quarter is a regular quarter
and is counted in determining the length of the absence.
Matriculated
students who have not registered for three consecutive quarters
and who have not been on an approved leave of absence (i.e. Medical
Leave, Educational
Leave of Absence, Intrasystem
Visitors Program, International
or National Exchange) must file an application for readmission
with the Admissions Department. Please visit the Admissions web
site for readmission application and deadlines. (Navigate through
the appropriate undergrad or grad links, click on 'prospective',
then 'application' to view readmission guidelines for former students.)
Example:
You were registered for the Winter 2001 term. You are eligible
to miss the following two consecutive terms (Spring 2001 and Summer
2001 quarters) without penalty or having to notify the Office of
Academic Records. You must register for Fall 2001 classes or you
will need to reapply to Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.
